About Camp 4 Health
I founded Camp 4 Health for guys like me who want to perform at a high level into their 50’s and beyond. Our innovative TRT microdosing protocol is just the beginning—we’re building a community of men who take responsibility for their own health and want to be more than just a patient.
Health and fitness are life-long passions of mine—and for good reason. In my early 20's I suffered from a devastating chronic illness. Desperate for answers, I spent thousands of hours and over $100,000 researching and trying dozens of treatments (including some wacky ones).
Long story short, I slowly regained my health. But I didn't stop there—my quest to recover from illness evolved into a never-ending pursuit of optimal health and longevity. Now at 53 I’m feeling and performing better than ever.
I want to help other men do the same!
My Journey
After decades of research and trial and error, I’ve come to believe that Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is the single best bang for the buck in men’s health and longevity—and it’s not even close. It’s the ONLY medical intervention I use and it’s not an exaggeration to say that it changed my life.
Here’s my journey:
Despite doing all the right things, when I reached my mid-40’s I began to feel less vibrant, with a variety of annoying symptoms:
Less energy (physical & mental)
Poor sleep & slow recovery from exercise
Low mood & irritability
Frequent colds & sinus issues
Lower libido
Since my mid 30’s I’ve done blood work every 6 months and I noticed a sharp decline in one biomarker:
Testosterone.
Over the years I watched my T level go from 900 to 700, then 600, then 400. It’s normal for T levels to decline with age but in recent years this trend has accelerated.
Since the 80’s the average T level among men has dropped about 1% a year, meaning that the average 22 y.o. man today has a T level roughly equal to that of a 67 y.o. man in 2000 (Braddock, 2021)
There are many reasons for this decline, but suffice it to say it’s a perfect storm of many factors. It’s a SILENT EPIDEMIC that is having a big impact on men’s health and society at large.
Testosterone is vital for a man's health—in many ways it's his life force.
There are many ways to increase T levels naturally and I spent years exploring ALL of them—special diets, red light therapy, cold plunge / sauna, vitamins, herbs, injectable peptides, and Rx meds.
Some of the things I tried—such as maca root and Enclomiphene (an off-label use of an Rx drug)—did boost my number back to 900 but I didn’t see much improvement in symptoms. I also experienced annoying side effects such as blurry vision and an agitated, angry feeling.
For years I resisted TRT for fear of becoming reliant on a prescription medication that may have long term side effects. But as my doctor told me, “Low T has pretty bad side effects too.”
Sooner or later all men have to make a choice:
Accept a slow decline in performance.
Do something about it.
I choose door number 2.
After doing extensive research I decided to give TRT a try. The goal of TRT is to restore your levels to that of a healthy 30 year old man, staying within natural physiologic levels (NOT supraphysiological levels that you see in bodybuilders).
For me the results were immediate and life-changing, but not in the ways you might expect. Most people associate T with muscular development & athletic performance.
I did add muscle & gain strength BUT the biggest benefits were in other areas:
My immune system is much stronger. I used to get a couple colds or sinus infections each year. Now I rarely get sick and my tolerance for emotional stress is much higher.
I have more all-day energy, sleep better, and recover faster (a huge benefit for an aging athlete).
My brain works faster and my thinking is clearer. This is probably the single biggest benefit for me.
My libido and sexual performance is off the charts.
My mood improved—I'm back to my sunny, optimistic self. This is a HUGE and underrated benefit of TRT for those who struggle with depression and anxiety.
What about side effects?
Just two: Slightly shrunken testicles and I’m probably infertile. I’m done having kids but for younger guys it’s a consideration (there are ways to mitigate these effects).
What about long term effects?
There's actually a growing body of evidence that long term TRT is beneficial for heart health and longevity. In studies, TRT—when properly administered—is associated with reduced all-cause mortality in men with low testosterone. Normalizing T levels can lower risks of heart attack, stroke, and death. In the next ten years I believe that TRT will become a standard first line therapy for anti-aging. [SOURCE]
My personal journey continues and about a year ago I stumbled into the relatively new concept of testosterone microdosing, which I believe will become the gold standard for TRT. Click here to learn more about Camp 4 Health’s T Microdosing Protocol.
If you’re experiencing symptoms of low T, the first step is to get tested and meet with a Camp 4 Health doctor to review your results and determine whether our T Microdosing Protocol is right for you.
Remember, your health is YOUR responsibility and nobody else’s. Educate yourself and don’t settle for anything less than feeling and performing your best!
To your health,
